5 - 8. Red Maple (Acer rubrum 'Frank Jr.'): REDPOINTE maple can reach a mature height of 45 feet and a spread of 30 feet. The samaras, or winged seeds, turn bright red in early summer and then fade to brown and fall to the ground. Foliage starts as a bright green in spring, darkening to a glossy, dark green in summer and turning to bright red.

Additional Information. Introduced by Schmit Nursery, Repointe Red Maple is known for pyramidal habit when young, glossy green leaves, and brilliant red fall color. Tolerant of wet, poorly drained soils and as well as dry conditions. Does not tolerate heavy pollution, and is often chlorotic in heavy clay soils.
